Police in Louisiana recently arrested the woman they say is responsible for a car crash that left a state trooper injured. While the trooper was on duty when the accident occurred, workers' compensation will likely cover a lot of his or her losses. According to reports, at approximately 11:45 p.m. on May 23, a 31-year-old woman was driving through a construction zone on Interstate 10 when she struck the back end of a Louisiana State Police SUV. The trooper inside the SUV is said to have suffered moderate injuries in the wreck and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. This individual's current condition is unknown, but he or she is expected to fully recover.
The driver responsible for this collision was uninjured. As authorities do believe impairment contributed to this event, this individual was arrested, transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with driving while intoxicated, careless operation and negligent injuring.
